Why Build Jasmine?

Under business as usual, we're not going to build enough global clean energy capacity to (1) electrify the economy, (2) decarbonize the electricity grid, and (3) improve people's quality of life by expanding access to electricity by 2050. Part of the reason we're off track is that it is difficult and opaque to finance clean energy development.

We want to fix that.

Opportunity

An Energy Attribute Certificate (EAC) is a market-based instrument that represents the property rights to the environmental, social, and other non-power attributes of renewable electricity generation. EACs are a $12B asset category that is expected to grow to $100B before the end of the decade.

They are vital for both (1) financing clean energy generation and (2) enabling companies/governments to reach their climate pledges. Many clean energy generators make more money selling EACs than selling energy.

Problem

It's hard to price and trade EACs today. Energy is already the most capital-intensive industrial sector, and this pricing risk makes it even more difficult to finance clean energy generation, making it needlessly more expensive for companies and governments to reach their climate pledges.

Solution

Jasmine protocol creates deep liquid market prices for EACs by letting anyone bridge EACs on-chain and group them into asset pools.

We invite the Regenerative Finance (ReFi) community to build atop the price signals, tokens, and mechanisms of our protocol.
